Jacob “Biz” Morris is a 3-time Grammy Award Winning and Multi-Platinum Engineer who has worked on Surfaces, David Kushner, Lecrae, Forrest Frank, Andy Mineo, Tori Kelly, etc. Biz spends his time between being the head engineer/vice president at Reach Records while also running GET MXD, a groundbreaking platform providing equal opportunities for artists at every skill level to have their songs expertly mixed. Biz reached out to Haverstick Designs to assist him with designing a standalone mix room in his backyard in Atlanta. The room features a stretch fabric system from Fabric Wall, professionally installed by Wood &Wire Works and trimmed out by Birch and Bold. Custom bass trapping and absorption was worked into the design along with Barrel Diffusers from Acoustical Fulfillment. The room has been wired for Dolby Atmos and with the fiber networking built in, Biz can collaborate with his Reach Records and GET MXD team across town while at home. The room is also setup for video capabilities to capture content on the fly. The custom-painted, whiteFocalTrio6 speakers along with the Focal Sub 12 paired with the Trinnov Nova and an extremely accurate acoustical environment allows Biz to complete quality mixes at home while being able to spend more time with his family.
