In 2016, Northeast Presbyterian Church enlisted the integration firm Mankin Media Systems together with Haverstick Designs to renovate their existing worship space. Haverstick Designs performed on-site acoustical testing and analysis to devise an acoustical treatment plan that would balance the speech and music applications. The data revealed that the brunt of the acoustical issues that created poor clarity of both speech and music in the sanctuary were excessive reverberation and delayed reflections off the rear walls and balcony face. The mitigation plan involved hanging sound absorbing panels to the side walls and ceiling. By addressing the interior architectural acoustics and upgrading their sound system, the Church turned their vision for their new sanctuary and worship experience into reality.
